Patna. The double-decker bus running on Patna’s Marine Drive continues to be a popular attraction. Local residents and tourists are thoroughly enjoying the service and showering it with praise. This initiative by the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation is proving highly popular. The ride from Digha Ghat to Kangan Ghat on the JP Ganga Path, the 360-degree view from the upper deck, the breeze, and the historical sites make it a truly special experience.

Passenger Details and Revenue So Far

According to information received from the Bihar Tourism Development Corporation, 2,245 tourists have ridden the double-decker bus running on the JP Ganga Path, generating revenue of ₹2,14,900.

The Bus and Its Features

This double-decker bus has 40 seats, with 20 air-conditioned seats on the lower deck and 20 on the upper deck. It also has a toilet, refrigerator, and a guide who provides information about the sights along the route. The one-way fare is ₹50 per person, while the round-trip fare is ₹100 per person.

Operates from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM

This bus currently operates from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. It takes tourists from Digha to the J.P. Ganga Path, visiting historical sites such as Golambar, Sabhyata Dwar, Darbhanga House, Gandhi Ghat, Mahatma Gandhi Setu, Chitragupta Temple, and Kangan Ghat. During the winter season, the bus will operate from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, allowing tourists to enjoy a cool, sun-warmed ride along the Ganga Path.

The number of double-decker buses will increase

Department officials say that if the buses are successfully operated and receive a positive response, the number of buses will be increased. Currently, one bus is in operation, carrying a total of 40 passengers at a time, enjoying Marine Drive. The double-decker bus was launched in September by the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation.
