According to the instructions, elephant safari will be conducted in the Chilla tourist zone from November 15 to June 15 every year.
‘Radha’ and ‘Rangeeli’ will conduct the safari: Two trained and experienced female elephants, ‘Radha’ and ‘Rangeeli’, from the Cheela Elephant Camp have been selected to conduct the safari. During the monsoon season, when tourist activities are limited, these elephants will continue their traditional patrolling duties. The elephant safari will provide tourists with a rare experience not possible in a typical vehicle safari. The elephants’ slow, steady, and calm gait will allow them to experience the true form, smells, and sounds of the forest in a very natural way.
During this time, tourists will not only be able to understand the behavior of female elephants(Elephant safari begins in Rajaji Chilla), their daily routine, and the characteristics of human-elephant relationships, but will also be able to observe major wildlife species found in the dense forests of Chila, such as the chital, sambar, peacock, golden jackal, tiger, leopard, hyena, wild elephant, and various migratory birds.
