Employees and officers engaged in SIR work will no longer be able to leave the district headquarters even on public holidays. Furthermore, they will no longer be able to take their earned leave without the permission of the District Election Officer.
Deputy District Election Officer Atul Kumar stated that, as directed by the Election Commission of India, SIR work is underway in the district from November 4th to December 4th. Claims and objections will then be accepted from December 9th, 2025, to January 8th, 2026.
The final electoral rolls will be published on February 7th, 2026. To ensure timely completion, District Election Officer Medha Rupam stated that no officer or employee assigned to the work will be granted leave without prior permission.
It has also been directed that no officer or employee will leave the headquarters without permission, even on public holidays.
