The success of our Char Dham winter travel depends on how it can be an inspiration. Devsthals already exist in Uttarakhand. Our Vedas say that deities reside at these places during winter, their idols are installed there, and daily prayers are performed. How can we integrate this with the people’s faith and the state’s natural beauty? The state government must set standards for this.
Furthermore, a framework needs to be developed to integrate homestays, resorts, hotels, along with mountain cuisine, clothing, jewelry, and crafts into the winter travel. In 2014, during the Congress government, we talked about starting the Char Dham winter travel. For this, an SOP was prepared so that the journey could start as per the prescribed standards.
