New Delhi: The Madhya Pradesh government is soon taking three major steps in the interest of employees. More than 450,000 teachers will receive ten days of earned leave annually. This scheme is being implemented after 17 years. Furthermore, 100% encashed leave will also be available after retirement. The two-child requirement for government jobs is also being lifted. This provision will come into effect from January 2026.
Teachers working in government schools in the state currently do not receive earned leave. This provision was introduced due to the availability of summer vacation. Gradually, summer vacations have been reduced, and now they are reduced from two months to only 20-22 days. Teachers have long been demanding the benefit of earned leave. In response, the Finance Department has prepared the Madhya Pradesh Civil Services (Leave) Rules 2025, replacing the Madhya Pradesh Civil Services (Leave) Rules 1977.
What is included in the Madhya Pradesh Civil Services (Leave) Rules 2025?
This entitles the teaching cadre to 10 days(MP Teacher Holidays) of earned leave per year. It also provides for the encashment of any remaining earned leave after retirement. Previously, the encashment of 240 days during the entire service period was available, which has now been increased to 300 days.
Due to the complex process, the full benefit of this leave was not available. Furthermore, amendments are also proposed to the rules for voluntary leave and weekly leave. Currently, government offices operate for five days, with Saturdays being a holiday. In place of this system, which began during the COVID-19 pandemic, the provision of holding office hours on the second and third Saturdays may be reinstated.
The two-child restriction will be lifted after 24 years
Meanwhile, the government is making another major decision: If any serving officer or employee has a third child, they will be deemed ineligible and removed from service. This condition was implemented on January 26, 2001. In fact, other states, including Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, have already removed such conditions. This decision will benefit employees in other departments, including schools, higher education, and medical education.
Complaints related to these will be archived, but those cases in which action has already been taken will not receive any relief, as the decision will not be implemented retrospectively. Sources say that the General Administration Department has prepared a proposal and sent it to the Chief Minister’s Office, and a final decision is expected soon.

Winter School Holidays 2025: Pre-primary schools in the Kashmir Valley and the colder parts of Jammu have been closed for winter vacation. The government stated that the decision was taken due to temperatures dropping several degrees below zero in Kashmir last week.

New Delhi: The ash cloud caused by the eruption of the Hayle Gubbi volcano in Ethiopia is disrupting air traffic. Regarding its impact on India, flights operating westward from several airports in the country, including New Delhi, are either being cancelled or rerouted.
IGI Airport has been particularly affected, with flights to Europe, the Middle East, and Asia suspended. Seven international flights have been cancelled since Monday. Nearly a dozen flights have been delayed. Flights to Dubai, Jeddah, Helsinki, Kabul, and Frankfurt experienced delays of two to four hours. Passenger traffic at IGI Airport has increased, and many are awaiting alternative flights.
In light of the impact on flight operations, Air India has announced that a total of 13 flights have been cancelled from various airports across the country, including New Delhi, on November 24-25. Akasa Air, IndiGo, and KLM have also cancelled several flights.
Advisory issued by all Indian airlines amid volcanic ash threat
Air India: We have initiated precautionary checks on aircraft transiting the affected areas. 11-13 flights have been cancelled. Passengers will be offered the option of a full refund or rescheduling.
