Why Rohtang Pass closed for tourists?
Rohtang Pass has been officially closed for tourists. As per the district administration’s instructions, vehicles will not be allowed on NH 03 from Gramphoo to Rohtang and from Jingjingbar to Sarchu from Thursday. Now, tourists from India and abroad will have to wait for the next six months to visit Rohtang.
Like every year, this year too, increased snowfall, extreme cold, and waterlogging on the roads have made travel risky. Temperatures dropping several degrees below zero in the morning and night have made the roads slippery, increasing the risk of accidents. However, people can enjoy the snow around Gramphoo, about six kilometers from Koksar, through Atal Tunnel Rohtang. New Delhi: To promote heritage, pilgrimage, and cultural tourism, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) operates the Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC tourist train. In this regard, two special tourist trains, “Garvi Gujarat” and “Padhaaro Rajasthan,” have been announced in January.
The Garvi Gujarat tourist train will depart from Safdarjung on January 13th. During the 10-day journey, passengers will be able to visit Vadodara, the UNESCO World Heritage Site Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park, the Statue of Unity (Kevadia), Somnath, Diu, Dwarka, Ahmedabad, the Sun Temple at Modhera, Rani ki Vav in Patan, and Vadnagar.
The “Padhaaro Rajasthan” tourist train will depart from Safdarjung Railway Station on January 24. Passengers will travel to Jaipur, Jaisalmer, and Jodhpur, where they will experience Rajasthan’s royal culture, vibrant traditions, palaces, and other tourist sites.
