Good news for children: school holidays have been announced! On the occasion of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s martyrdom day, the holiday will be on November 25th instead of November 24th. All government and private schools and educational institutions in Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana will be closed on this day, giving children two days off to play and relax.
Holiday on ‘Hind ki Chadar’ Guru Tegh Bahadur Martyrdom Day
Today marks the martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Guru of the Sikhs, also known as ‘Hind ki Chadar’. He sacrificed his life to protect Hinduism. In honor of this sacrifice, the Delhi government has declared this day a public holiday. The governments of Haryana and Punjab have already declared this day a holiday, believing it inspires mutual solidarity and togetherness.
Children to get three days off
Delhi children will soon enjoy the comfort of a three-day holiday. Since November 23rd is a Sunday, they will only have one day off from school, with November 25th being a holiday. If children also take a break on November 24th, they will have three consecutive days to play and study. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha has also announced this holiday on social media, creating an atmosphere of joy among children.
