Card based bus travel in final stages

Preparations to issue pink, blue, and orange passes for free and concessional travel on DTC and cluster buses in Delhi have reached final stages. Transport Department officials have finalized the terms and conditions for issuing pink, blue, and orange National Common Mobility Cards (NCMCs).

Details of each trip made using these three cards, issued for different categories of passengers, will be recorded in software through EVMs (electronic ticketing machines), and compensation will be paid to DTC based on this.

DTC had issued an RFP (Request for Proposal) for the issuance of these three-colored travel cards, but several banks requested further information from the department. After discussing these issues in a pre-bid meeting, these were resolved and a new RFP has been issued with new terms and conditions.

The process of selecting banks for issuing cards has been started. Facility of auto top-up will be available. The hassle of repeatedly topping up the blue coloured card issued by DTC for general passengers will also be eliminated. The facility of auto top-up will also be provided by the bank. This card will be linked to the bank account. After this, as soon as there is low balance in it, auto top-up will be done with the decided amount.
