Holidays Canceled for Government Employees

India’s retaliation on 22 April Pahalgam massacre was that India struck terrorist infrastructure. Pakistan planned an attack, which led to war between both countries. It is important to know which states cancelled holidays for government employees and whether schools will remain open or not.

The 4 major states sharing boundaries are

• Rajasthan, Punjab & Gujarat share boundaries with Pakistan.
• West Bengal shares a boundary with Bangladesh.

Punjab Holidays canceled & Schools Closed

• Leaves of all police personnel are cancelled in the whole state by the government. Leave can be approved in special circumstances only.
• All schools are closed in following 6 districts:-
  • Ferozepur
  • Fazilka
  • Tarn Taran
  • Gurdaspur
  • Amritsar
  • Pathankot
• A blackout was started for 8 hours in Gurdaspur district on 8 May around 9 pm.

Gujarat Update amid War

• All police personal are ordered to return to their duties.

Haryana update & Schools Closed

• Leave of state police personnel cancelled by Haryana Government till further orders.
• All leave and holidays of the Health Department have been cancelled, and employees are ordered to maintain headquarters.

Delhi Holidays & Schools update

The government of Delhi cancelled the leave of all employees till further orders for preparedness for emergency situations in India.

Rajasthan

• Leave of police personnel and administrative offices cancelled in borders near Pakistan.
• Schools will remain shut in 5 bordering districts with blackouts

  • Sri Ganganagar
  • Bikaner
  • Jodhpur
  • Jaisalmer

Conclusion

The state governments of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Bihar, and West Bengal have cancelled holidays for their various departments. Schools and colleges will remain in all districts near international borders of India & Pakistan.
