New Delhi: The Jharkhand Pavilion was the centerpiece of the 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025, with the state’s unique “Mining Tourism” initiative receiving immense appreciation from visitors. Visitors from across the country enjoyed a live experience with models and virtual reality presentations of Jharkhand’s mining, natural, and religious tourist destinations.

Under the Mining Tourism Scheme, a joint initiative of the Jharkhand government and Central Coalfields Limited, safe visits to mines like the North Urimari Opencast Mine are now possible, with trained guides providing information about the mining area, machinery, and environmental management. This initiative, the first in the country by a state, offers tourists the opportunity to experience coal mines, mining technology, and the state’s industrial strength.

The Jharkhand Tourism Pavilion’s virtual reality circle showcased the tourist destinations of Patratu Valley, Netarhat, Saranda Forest, Betla National Park, Chandil Dam, and Parasnath, drawing visitors to the visuals. The state’s spiritual heritage was also a special attraction, with special displays of the Baidyanath Dham, Shaktipeeth Hridaypeeth, and the golden statue of Lord Krishna installed at the Shri Banshidhar Temple.

The greenery of Patratu Valley, its lakes, dams, and boating activities are attracting visitors to Jharkhand’s natural tourist destinations. The state’s developing new viewpoints, cafeterias, and recreational facilities make the region ideal for family and adventure tourism. For the first time at IITF, visitors witnessed a unique blend of Jharkhand’s mining tourism with religious and nature tourism, establishing a new positive identity for Jharkhand on the national stage.
