Why school Holidays in Andhra Pradesh on October 27, 28, and 29?

The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in Andhra Pradesh. Govt orders to close school in many districts of Andhra Pradesh.

Schools in East Godavari, Annamayya, and Kadapa districts will remain closed on October 27 and 28. And also, a three-day continuous holiday has been announced for schools on 27, 28 & 29 October in the NTR, Bapatla, Krishna, and Guntur districts.

The Collector of Konaseema district has said that the school management may declare a holiday in their area considering the rainfall.

Some other states can also declare local holidays for their districts because IMD has issued this heavy rain and cyclone warning till 29th October.

Red Alert Districts

Bapatla, YSR, Prakasam, Nellore, Tirupati, and Annamayya districts are on Red alert list as per IMD.

Orange Alert Districts(Cyclone Montha)

Nandyal, Chittoor, Palnadu, Guntur, Krishna, East Godavari, and Konaseema districts are under an orange alert.

At the time of landfall, very heavy rainfall is expected in Kakinada, Godavari, Eluru, Guntur, Palnadu, Prakasam, and YSR districts. Warning of rainfall up to 20 cm and wind speeds reaching 90–100 kmph. Cyclone Montha is likely to make landfall between Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam around midnight on October 28.
