Order issued due to lack of complete details of Waqf properties on portal Sunni Central Waqf Board office sees progress during surprise inspection Lucknow, Special Correspondent, Minister of State for Minority Welfare, Danish Azad Ansari, conducted a surprise inspection of the Sunni Central Waqf Board office on Wednesday.
During the inspection, he expressed displeasure over the lack of complete details of Waqf properties on the Umeed portal. Following this, during the review, he ordered the cancellation of leave for all Waqf Board employees until December 5th. He directed that all files in the record room be digitized soon. He also directed that all files and documents related to Waqf properties be properly maintained.
During the inspection, the Minister met with various Waqf Mutawallis from across the state and briefed them on the processes related to registration, management, transparency, and digitization of Waqf properties. He told the Mutawallis that the Umeed Portal is an important step of the Central Government for the protection, monitoring and better administration of Waqf properties.
This will not only bring transparency in the management of Waqf properties but will also stop corruption and irregularities. Waqf properties are the highest in the state. After the inspection, the Minister also held a review meeting with the Board’s CEO Masoom Ali Sarwar.
In this, many points related to the registration of Waqf properties on the Umeed Portal were discussed. Minister Danish said that the number of Waqf properties in Uttar Pradesh is the highest, around 1.25 lakh.
