    A total of 24 holidays in the 2026 calendar year

    Himachal Pradesh gained full statehood on January 25, 1971. Full Statehood Day is celebrated on this day. This year, January 25th falls on a Sunday. Furthermore, Guru Ravidas Jayanti is on February 1st, also a Sunday. Mahashivratri falls on February 15th, a Sunday. Lord Parshuram Jayanti on April 19th also falls on a Sunday.     The DM office had previously declared a local holiday on Wednesday, October 29th, 2025. Later, when details of the dates and sunrise times of Chhath Puja events became available, DM Deepak Meena reviewed the situation and issued a new order.

    The revised order clearly states that the holiday on October 29th is cancelled and a local holiday will be in effect on October 28th. All government offices, educational institutions, and offices in the district will remain closed on this day.

    Meanwhile, the Municipal Corporation, Jalkal Department, and police administration have intensified preparations for the Chhath festival.
