    Travel to Pachmarhi, Madhya Pradesh’s only hill station, is about to become easier. A special PM Shri helicopter service is being launched from Bhopal, the capital, to Pachmarhi. This helicopter service launched today. Previously, tourists could only reach Pachmarhi by their own means, train, or bus. However, now air travel is also available.

    With the PM Shri helicopter service, tourists can reach the destination directly in less time. In terms of travel time, it takes approximately four to five hours to travel from Bhopal to Pachmarhi by road. By air, you can reach Pachmarhi in just 30 to 40 minutes. Public transport requires a train from Bhopal to Pipariya, from where you can then travel to Pachmarhi via taxi.

    The fare from Bhopal to Pachmarhi is ₹5,000. If a family of five were to travel by helicopter, the fare would be around ₹25,000. On the other hand, the average time to reach Pachmarhi by helicopter is two and a half to three hours. This includes the journey from home to the airport, check-in and check-out, and the flight itself.

    Tourists Arrive in Large Numbers

    During the winter season, especially in November and December, Pachmarhi, Madhya Pradesh’s only hill station, attracts a large number of tourists from various states across the country. Nestled amidst beautiful valleys, this small town offers a wealth of attractions. In such a situation, it is expected that after the launch of helicopter service, tourists will have easier access to Pachmarhi.

    First State to Launch Interstate Air Service

    Madhya Pradesh has become the first state to operate interstate air service. Tourists will be provided with helicopter service five days a week. This service includes various religious sites, wildlife sanctuaries, and tourist destinations. Currently, four major cities in the state, Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, and Jabalpur, have been connected. Two Jyotirlingas—Mahakal Ujjain and Omkareshwar Khandwa—three national parks—Kanha, Bandhavgarh, and Satpura—and three religious cities—Amarkantak, Chitrakoot, and Maihar—have also been connected.
