The team arrived on the Collector’s orders and took action after an investigation. Anjuman Islamia English Medium School, located at Malviya Chowk in Jabalpur, had issued an order for Friday to be a holiday and Sunday to remain open. Following this, IBC24 arrived and investigated.

    On the instructions of Collector Raghvendra Singh, Jabalpur’s District Education Officer, Ghanshyam Soni, visited Anjuman Islamia School. The school gates were opened and the school management and Waqf Committee Chairman Mohammad Anwar were summoned. Anwar’s office was locked, not just once, but twice. The District Education Officer had these locks broken and, by making the Chairman sit in the office, had him rescind the Tughlaq decree.

    Anwar was asked to sign a written statement on his letterhead stating that the Friday holiday order had been rescinded and that Sunday would be the weekly holiday, as before.
