With the beginning of December, the arrival of tourists has increased. Perwaghagh, nestled amidst the dense forests of the remote Phatka Panchayat in Torpa block, and the nearby Pandu Puding, are attracting people with their captivating natural beauty.

    On the first Sunday, a large number of tourists arrived here and enjoyed the natural surroundings throughout the day. Waterfall falling from a height of 70-80 feet: The beauty of the Perwaghagh waterfall, with its stream falling from a height of 70-80 feet and the gurgling river flowing between the huge rocks, delighted the tourists.

    Tourists from various districts – Ranchi, Gumla, Simdega, and surrounding areas of Khunti – spent hours near the waterfall. Many families were seen enjoying picnics while sitting on the rocks. According to tourism guide Jai Singh, tourists arrived in about 40-50 small and large vehicles.

    However, due to the lack of a temporary bridge across the river, people were deprived of seeing the waterfall up close.     Dilapidated road poses an obstacle: The dilapidated condition of the road leading to Perwaghagh remains the biggest challenge for tourists and locals. The road near the forest after the Churdag turn is in very poor condition, making vehicular movement risky.

    Two years ago, the Chief Minister had instructed officials to construct the road and undertake the overall development of the area, but no concrete action has been taken so far. Local residents are demanding that the road be constructed soon so that tourism can be promoted and people can travel more easily.
