In Haryana, the state government, in collaboration with the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, is commemorating the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the ninth Sikh Guru at Jyotisar to spread his message and legacy.

    Guru Tegh Bahadur’s Martyrdom Day is also known as Shaheedi Diwas. It commemorates the execution of the ninth Sikh Guru by the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in 1675. On this day, people honor the sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur in defending religious freedom against forced conversion.
