Consequently, all banks and financial institutions will remain closed on that day. For establishments governed by labor laws, the Industrial Disputes Act, the Kerala Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, the Minimum Wages Act, and related laws, only the holidays specified under the Kerala Industrial Establishments (National and Festival Holidays) Act will be applicable. A local holiday has also been declared for Holi on March 4, 2026, which will be applicable to state government offices and public sector undertakings operating in New Delhi.

    3 holidays on 12 consecutive weeks

    Out of 12 weeks 7 weeks will have holidays on Friday followed by weekend offering 3 consecutive days off and 5 holidays will be on Monday following weekend. 2 local district holidays can be declared by District Collectors in their respective districts.

    Six public holidays will be on Sunday which will reduce the public holiday count by employees.
